Duncan MacDougall says, “I have lived the training that Inspired STEPS is offering to youth and anticipate their experience being as life-changing as it was for me. 

I predict that this program will inspire positive attitudes, great passion for life and a renewed accountability and responsibility in the lives of teens who attend.  They come out of this training believing that their lives can be taken to a higher level.  I want to share my experience by helping teens create a plan for their lives personally, professionally, emotionally, and spiritually through Inspired STEPS.” 

 

Duncan MacDougall’s mission is to inspire optimism by giving others the tools needed to create the life of their dreams.


Duncan is a strategic and results-oriented leader who possesses strong interpersonal skills that positively influences individuals, teams and organizations to achieve its goals.  He received his B.S. in Business Administration, Industrial Relations from the State University of New York at Buffalo.  His military experience was with the US Army Special Forces as a Salvage Diver 1st Class; he received an Honorable Discharge.


Most of his professional experience was in Management, Sales Management and Profit and Loss responsibility.  The beginning of his career was in the packaging industry as General Manager, District Manager and Regional Manager Southwest.  Awards received included being the number 1 sales region for 4 out of 5 years, Regional Manager of the Year and National Salesman of the Year for his region. 


He became Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations where he directed the activities of a non-profit company operations, finance and general administration.  Recently, he was Vice President of Business Development where he led the operations of inner-city development initiatives.  For 3 years he was co-facilitator for a monthly seminar written by Dr. Phil McGraw, of the Dr. Phil Show.  He is currently a Financial Manager of a Dallas company. 


Duncan has remained very involved with community activities.  Beginning as a young man, he was founder for Detroit’s BMF Dances which sponsored dances for underage youth.  He served as President of Hi-Y Detroit, a youth mentoring program similar to Big Brothers.  In the past three cities in which he has lived, which include Dallas, Kansas City and San Antonio, he has been a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.  For 3 years he was a recruiter for Salvation Army’s Honk ‘n Holler in Kansas City, gathering people to be a part of this outreach program that served food and basic necessities to the homeless.  Duncan has also worked with Toys for Tots, Detroit City Rescue Mission, Kansas City Union Mission and HIS Bridge Builders in Dallas. 


Currently he is chairperson for a 501 (c)(3) that specializes in personal growth seminars.  He is also an Elder for Heartland Church in Carrollton, Texas, where he and his wife Jan are marriage mentors and present Lighten Up, a seminar where participants strengthen their relationship with God.
